You Can Find Balance

#Balance is something that comes with #peace, #joy, and #openness. If we lack any of these we will not find that balance. Let's take a deeper dive to better understand true balance and how to achieve it.

Finding balance means we have internal peace of mind and other factors that help us maintain such a healthy lifestyle. We will break down the components of balance so we all can better understand what it means and how it relates to our overall mental health.

Peace

Finding peace means we have been able to accept ourselves for who we are. This includes our shortcomings and even the negative aspects of the deeper layers that we all have. The balance that comes with this peace means we know that the positivity we exude will help manifest the opportunity to see that peace in a way that is conducive to a healthy and satisfying life. Not only that, we will truly feel at peace when we have stability in such feelings. Balance is an art that can only come with practice and mastering all the intricacies of the act itself.

Having the calm that promotes and translates peace is what we all need. It isn't something we need occasionally but all the time. We can have peace in the midst of a bad day if we know how to channel our positivity to our advantage. Some ways to do that is:

1. Recognize the need to take a deep breather and ponder on reality versus what you have conjured up in your negative place internally

2. Manifest joy by being able to smile in the heat of a moment and realize everything will be ok and it's not the end of the world.

3. Rest assured that all your good deeds will not become undone because of one bad day or one bad act. Learn to be gentle with yourself and forgive freely.

4. Don't harbor resentment within yourself. Be accepting of flaws and imperfections and set expectations accordingly to your means and reality.

Joy

Having joy means we have it deep within. It is not something we can turn off or on or that comes and goes with our mood. It is a place we have discovered within that brings solace to the things we do and say. The way we convey joy is by being satisfied with our situation and knowing that this is something we should be grateful for. NO matter our situation finding joy doesn't have to rely upon material things or your status in life. Real joy comes from the relationships we have, the peace we have with ourselves, and so forth. Are you seeing the connection here?

Joy doesn't have to be this feeling of jubilee all the time we can sit with our joy in many ways. For instance, we may have suffered a loss, and to have joy may be hard but we have to dig deep to realize that one tragic event or change in circumstances will not define us as a person. As human beings, we adapt. Adaptation is in our DNA. It is what makes us intelligent, beautiful, and loving creatures at the end of the day.

Openness

According to Wikipedia, openness is one of the domains which are used to describe human personality in the Five-Factor Model. Openness involves six facets, or dimensions: active imagination (fantasy), aesthetic sensitivity, attentiveness to inner feelings, preference for variety (adventurousness), intellectual curiosity, and challenging authority (psychological liberalism).

A great deal of psychometric research has demonstrated that these facets or qualities are significantly correlated. Thus, openness can be viewed as a global personality trait consisting of a set of specific traits, habits, and tendencies that cluster together.

This tends to be partial when it comes to the way we perceive things. It is great to know that you can have openness to be accepting of one's faults and imperfections while at the same time having standards and that can bring us joy.

Achieving Balance

With these three factors, we can have proper balance. We will be maintaining proper #mentalhealth along with physical attributes that make us a whole thriving human being, flaws and all. There are various scenarios in which balance can be analyzed and this is just one method. I invite you to share your experience and teach us all how you find balance and the joy it brings to you.
